Calendar tasks and note review dates should not compete for the same reminder slot because they answer different questions.

Google Calendar Help says tasks need a date to appear on the calendar. That makes tasks useful for visible commitments: send the draft, call the partner, check the invoice, prepare the meeting pack. A note review date is different. It asks when a saved idea, meeting note, source, or project fragment should be read again. If both are pushed into the same notification stream, the calendar starts mixing action pressure with memory prompts.

A practical split is to reserve calendar tasks for work that must become an action on a particular day. Review dates can stay inside Notion database properties, Obsidian properties, or a weekly review list unless they truly require action. This keeps the calendar trustworthy. When everything becomes a dated task, overdue items stop meaning anything. When review dates stay inside the note system, they can be processed in a slower batch without interrupting the day.

The boundary is simple: if someone is waiting, put it on the calendar or task list. If the value is remembering context, keep it in the note review system. If the note review produces a real next action, promote that action into Calendar or Tasks. This one-way promotion prevents the same thought from becoming three notifications.

Good note systems do not need to notify constantly. They need one reliable path from saved context to future attention.
