An ad placement review should check accidental-click risk before judging whether a layout is good for revenue. Google AdSense policy pages require publishers to follow program policies, and the invalid traffic help page includes accidental clicks in the invalid traffic discussion. For a creator, the safe starting point is not "which layout earns most today" but "which layout clearly separates content, navigation, and ads." The checklist should cover mobile first. On small screens, ads near sticky navigation, next buttons, download buttons, image galleries, pagination, or collapsing accordions can create unintentional taps. A layout that looks fine on desktop may be risky on a phone with a thumb scroll path. Review spacing, labels, viewport position, scroll behavior, and content interruption. Record screenshots for mobile and desktop, but describe the user action in words: reading an article, tapping a menu, moving to the next page, closing a popup, or copying a code snippet. The risk appears in the journey, not only in the screenshot. The checklist should also record recent changes. If CTR rises suddenly after an ad position moved closer to navigation, that is not automatically a win. Compare bounce rate, session depth, complaints, invalid traffic warnings, and page speed together. The boundary is that ad placement review is not a trick for higher clicks. It is a quality control step for publishers who want monetization to survive. A layout that users can understand is better than one that creates short-term clicks and long-term policy risk.
