A leveraged ETF review sheet is a pre-trade and post-trade note for products that use daily leveraged or inverse exposure. It does not decide whether the trade is good. It forces the holder to define the exposure before the position becomes emotional. The first section is product structure. Write the daily objective, leverage multiple, benchmark, reset frequency, expense ratio, and whether the product is leveraged, inverse, or both. If the holder cannot explain daily objective and reset behavior, the position should not be treated as a normal index ETF. The second section is position role. Is it a hedge, a short tactical sleeve, a momentum trade, or a mistaken substitute for long-term core exposure? The role matters because a hedge and a core holding have different review clocks. The third section is exit discipline. Include planned holding period, maximum tolerated loss, condition for taking profit, condition for closing even if thesis still feels right, and whether adding is allowed. Write these before price movement starts. The fourth section is review evidence. After closing or reviewing the position, record whether the outcome came from index direction, compounding effect, volatility, position size, or rule-breaking. This turns a risky product into a learning record rather than a repeated impulse.
