Weekly review shelf is a temporary place where tasks, notes, links, and half-decisions wait until the next weekly review instead of interrupting the current day. The shelf is useful when a Notion workspace, Obsidian vault, paper notebook, or phone memo app keeps collecting small items that feel important but do not deserve immediate sorting. It gives those items one stable parking place so the user does not rebuild tags, projects, and folders every time a new idea appears. A good shelf has an entry rule and an exit rule. The entry rule says what can land there: unfinished meeting notes, small errands, article links, follow-up ideas, and tasks that are not urgent today. The exit rule says what happens during review: schedule it, delete it, move it to a project, turn it into a reference note, or leave it for one more week with a reason. The boundary is that the shelf is not a second inbox. If everything stays there, it becomes another pile. Practical interpretation: keep the shelf small enough that a Friday or Sunday review can clear it in twenty minutes.
