A task receipt is a compact record attached to a tool or model comparison. It explains the task, inputs, constraints, success criteria, and observed failure. It is useful when people compare Claude, GPT, Gemini, open tools, search products, translation tools, code helpers, or writing assistants. A task receipt usually includes: 1. Task: what the tool was asked to do. 2. Input: the same prompt, document, code excerpt, or source material. 3. Constraint: language, time, files, privacy limit, or allowed tools. 4. Output target: what a good result should look like. 5. Failure point: the first thing that made the result hard to use. 6. Repair cost: how much human editing or checking was needed. The receipt should stay short. Its purpose is not to prove a universal winner. Its purpose is to make a comparison portable across teams, languages, and future versions.
