A synthetic track label is a public marker that explains how automated music tools affected a released track. Useful labels separate at least four questions: - Creation role: generated vocal, generated instrumental, cloned voice, lyric assistance, post-production, restoration, or unknown. - Source of information: artist disclosure, distributor metadata, platform detection, rights-holder report, or active review. - Platform action: visible only in credits, removed from recommendations, excluded from charts, demonetized, or sent to impersonation review. - Listener control: hidden by default, allowed by preference, shown in a playlist scan, or kept in normal discovery. The label should not collapse all tool use into one warning. A fully synthetic content-farm upload, an unauthorized voice clone, and a human artist using assisted mastering create different trust problems. A good label helps three groups at once: listeners who want to know what they are hearing, artists who disclose tool use without being treated as fraud, and platforms that need a clean path for spam, impersonation, and recommendation policy.
