A sync copy is a copy that follows changes from another place so several devices or views stay aligned. It is useful for convenience. A phone, laptop, tablet, and web library can show the same photo, note, file, or folder without manual copying. The risk is that deletion, renaming, or moving may also travel. A sync copy should not be treated as a protected archive unless the service clearly separates local cleanup from library deletion. The useful question is: what happens if the original is deleted? If deletion removes every copy, it is a mirror. If deletion only removes the local copy while another copy remains under a separate recovery or export path, it may be part of a backup or archive workflow. Use this term for photo libraries, cloud drive folders, note apps, messaging attachments, phone backup settings, shared family albums, and work devices where people may confuse "available on another screen" with "safe if this screen changes." A good record names the direction of sync, the delete behavior, the recovery window, and any folder or device that is excluded.
