A return clock is the event and deadline used to decide whether a buyer can still open a return, defect, refund, or exchange claim. Useful fields: - claim type: changed mind, damaged on arrival, missing part, setup defect, wrong item, late delivery, or warranty issue - start event: purchase, shipment, delivery scan, pickup, possession, unboxing, activation, or first reasonable inspection - deadline and timezone - evidence needed for the chosen start event - extension rule or denial rule - seller finality point A return clock should be explicit because different claims need different clocks. Delivery may be enough for simple returns. Inspection may be fairer when the buyer could not reasonably check the item at delivery.
