A rainy-day fallback route is a prepared alternative for a walking-heavy city plan when weather, heat, or fatigue makes the original route inefficient. It is not just an indoor attraction list. A useful fallback keeps the same travel goal while reducing outdoor exposure, transfer risk, and decision load. If the original plan is a Seoul market walk, the fallback may be a covered mall, nearby museum, cafe cluster, or station-connected food stop. If the original plan is a Kyoto temple walk, the fallback may keep one priority stop and replace the rest with a covered shopping street and shorter transit legs. The route should name a trigger. Light rain may only require a slower pace and one cafe break. Heavy rain with luggage may require a station-connected plan. Afternoon heat in Bangkok or Singapore may require moving outdoor stops to morning and using indoor transit-linked stops in the middle of the day. The boundary is overplanning. A fallback should be easy to choose while tired, not another full itinerary to optimize. Practical interpretation: keep one must-do item, one indoor substitute, one food stop, and one clean exit route back to the hotel.
