A pricing change note is the short explanation customers and support teams can quote when a SaaS plan, limit, or billing rule changes. The note should state what changed, who is affected, when it starts, what stays the same, and what action is required. This is different from marketing copy. Customers who read a pricing change note are usually trying to decide whether their invoice, feature access, seat count, or usage limit will change. They need direct language before persuasion. A strong note separates new customers, existing customers, trial users, annual contracts, and grandfathered plans. It also names the practical reason for the change without overexplaining internal cost structure. For example, "API usage above the included monthly limit now moves to metered billing on August 1" is clearer than "we are updating our plans to support sustainable growth." The boundary is that a pricing change note should not hide the tradeoff. If a limit is lower, say which limit. If a plan is renamed but not changed, say that. If customers must choose before a deadline, put the deadline near the top. A good note becomes the source for the changelog, email, support macro, billing FAQ, and in-app notice. If each channel says the change differently, support tickets increase even when the pricing decision is reasonable.
