Calls
A pickup window is the time range a shop gives a customer for collecting an order after it is packed or set aside. The window is useful only when it says what the customer can do next. A vague note like “ready soon” creates extra messages because the customer still does not know whether to leave now, wait for a text, bring identification, or expect a substitution. A good pickup window names the earliest time, latest time, location, and any action required before arrival. Local shops often need tighter wording than large delivery platforms. Parking, lunch rushes, staff breaks, market stalls, and same-day inventory changes can all affect the handoff. The note should also say what happens if the customer misses the window: hold until close, cancel after a deadline, move to the next day, or ask the customer to call. The boundary is that a pickup window is not a delivery promise. It should not guarantee stock that has not been checked or a speed the shop cannot meet during peak hours. Practical interpretation: write the pickup window as a decision aid. The customer should know whether to go now, wait, bring something, or choose another option without sending one more clarification message.
