A Page RPM denominator note records exactly which page views were used when a creator compares ad revenue across days, pages, or traffic sources. The metric looks simple, but it is easy to misread when page views, traffic quality, ad coverage, or seasonality move at the same time. Google AdSense defines Page RPM as estimated earnings divided by page views, multiplied by 1000. That means a higher or lower Page RPM is not just a statement about total revenue. It is a revenue-per-page-view view of the site, and it depends on both the earnings numerator and the page-view denominator. A useful note includes date range, page group, country or traffic source, page views, estimated earnings, Page RPM, ad impressions where available, CTR where available, and one short interpretation. If page views doubled but earnings stayed flat, Page RPM falls even when total revenue did not crash. If page views stayed stable but ad impressions dropped, the question moves toward coverage, placement, or demand. The boundary is important: Page RPM is a triage metric, not a full diagnosis. It should start the investigation, then point to the next metric to check.
