A grandfathered plan is an old pricing or access arrangement that remains available to an existing user after the public offer changes. It is useful only when the boundary is visible. A clear record should name the plan, the purchase or enrollment window, what stays unchanged, what can be split into a new paid feature, and what event ends the old terms. The risky version is a vague loyalty promise. Users hear "you keep your plan" while the company later means "you keep some parts of your plan." A support team then has to resolve a pricing dispute from screenshots, memory, and old marketing copy. A durable grandfathered-plan note should answer: old price, included scope, excluded future add-ons, renewal behavior, transfer rules, and the date the record was last checked.
