A correction note boundary is the line between what a public correction should explain and what should remain in internal review or private support. A good correction note helps readers understand what changed, why it matters, and whether they should reinterpret the page. It does not need to include every draft mistake, staff discussion, private message, or speculative cause. The public note should identify the old statement, the corrected statement, the source or evidence used, and the practical effect on the reader. This matters for quoted statistics, price tables, policy dates, tool features, legal thresholds, and comparison conclusions. If a correction changes only wording, say that. If it changes the recommendation, rank, conclusion, or safety boundary, say that plainly. If the earlier source was replaced by newer data, name the newer data and date checked. The boundary is also about tone. A correction note should be clear without becoming a courtroom brief. Practical interpretation: write the note for the reader deciding whether to keep using the page, not for the writer defending how the error happened.
