Condition proof is the small piece of evidence that shows what state something was in when a decision was made. It is different from proof that an event happened. A delivery photo may prove a parcel reached the door. It does not prove the item inside was unused. A receipt may prove the purchase date. It does not prove the seal was intact. A screenshot may prove a message was sent. It does not prove the receiver understood the next step. A useful condition proof names the thing, the state being claimed, the time it was observed, and the limit of the evidence. The limit matters because people often stretch one proof to answer a different question. Common examples: - a photo of a sealed box before return inspection - a counter note saying a tag was missing - a support log showing which recovery option was attempted - a room checklist showing the appliance was already broken - a pickup note showing who accepted an item, but not whether it was complete Condition proof should be plain enough for a later reader to compare. It should not require guessing from a verdict like accepted, rejected, fixed, failed, or delivered. A short pattern is enough: - object or case - claimed state - observed time - evidence type - who observed it - what the evidence does not prove - decision made from it The last two fields prevent many disputes. Without them, a record starts sounding more certain than it is.
