Claim Type Triage is a way to decide what kind of evidence a statement needs before it should be reused. Not every claim needs the same proof. A community thread can be strong evidence that people are asking a question or hitting a workflow issue. It is weaker evidence for pricing, safety, medical claims, legal rules, product reliability, or current policy. A vendor page may be strong for official availability but weak for user experience. A benchmark may be useful for a narrow test but weak for everyday behavior. The triage starts by naming the claim: discovery, definition, comparison, recommendation, risk, or instruction. Discovery claims can use broader signals. Definitions should prefer stable sources or repeated usage. Recommendations need context, constraints, and recency. Risk and instruction claims need primary confirmation or direct testing. This method prevents over-citing and under-checking. It lets a researcher use informal sources without pretending they prove more than they do. The output should say both what the source supports and what still needs confirmation.
