An archive snapshot is a saved copy of a web page captured at a particular moment so future readers can inspect what the page looked like when it was cited. It is most useful for pages that can change, disappear, move behind redirects, or lose images and scripts over time. The Internet Archive help page says Save Page Now saves a specific page one time and does not add the URL to future crawls or save an entire site. Perma.cc is also designed around preserving cited web pages. This means an archive snapshot should be treated as a cited version, not as proof that the whole site was captured or that every embedded resource remained available. A practical archive snapshot note should include original URL, archive URL, capture date, access date, page title, supported claim, missing assets if visible, and whether the original page still works. The archive link should sit beside the live URL, not replace it, because the live page shows the current source and the snapshot shows the cited moment.
