After a late airport arrival, the best transfer is the one that still works after immigration, baggage, payment setup, and walking time. A landing time after 10 p.m. can look safe on paper because trains or buses are still listed. The practical question is whether the traveler can reach the platform or bus stop before the useful service ends. Add time for immigration, checked baggage, a restroom stop, mobile data setup, transit card purchase, and finding the right exit. A 10:05 p.m. landing can become an 11:20 p.m. curbside decision. Train is usually best when the route is direct, the hotel is near a station, and service is still frequent. Airport bus can be better with luggage or when it stops closer to the hotel, but late buses may have long gaps or end earlier by route. Taxi is the backup when public transit is finished, but it needs a working payment method, clear hotel address, and awareness of late-night surcharge or airport queue. The decision order should be: last useful departure, final stop distance from hotel, luggage load, payment readiness, and backup cost. Do not choose the cheapest option if missing it forces a more expensive emergency ride. The practical rule is to plan the late arrival from the airport exit time, not the airplane landing time.
