A support macro should be reviewed for accuracy, tone, scope, and escalation before it becomes a customer-facing shortcut.

Macros save time, but they also repeat mistakes quickly. A vague refund sentence, outdated product step, missing privacy caveat, or overly cheerful tone can reach many customers before anyone notices. The review should happen before the macro becomes the default answer.

A practical checklist:

- The first sentence answers the customer’s likely question directly.
- The steps match the current product, pricing, or policy.
- Any promise is within the team’s authority.
- The tone fits blocked, confused, or frustrated users.
- Private notes are not mixed into customer-facing wording.
- The macro says when not to use it and where to escalate.
- The record has an owner and review date.

The scope line is especially important. A macro for “email did not arrive” may be safe for resend guidance but unsafe for account takeover, workplace domain restrictions, or legal requests. The reviewer should name those boundaries.

The practical test is whether a new teammate can send the macro without inventing policy or hiding uncertainty. If the answer is no, the macro needs clearer boundaries before it reaches customers.
