A weekly Shorts review should turn scattered analytics into a small set of decisions for the next videos. The mistake is reviewing every upload as a separate emotional event. One video feels ignored, another gets comments, another gets reach but no follow-through. A weekly template keeps the creator focused on patterns across similar videos, not one noisy result. Use five sections. First, list the videos by topic and series. Second, record the opening promise in one sentence. Third, note the first retention drop or swipe problem. Fourth, copy repeated comments or questions without overreacting to one unusual reply. Fifth, choose one follow-up action: remake the hook, answer a repeated question, test a different opening frame, bridge to long-form, or stop the topic. The template should include decisions, not only metrics. “Video B had worse retention” is less useful than “Video B delayed the payoff until second six; next version starts with the result.” The decision gives the next edit a clear job. A simple weekly rhythm also prevents constant format switching. If every upload triggers a new strategy, the channel never learns which hook, topic, or series pattern is actually improving.
