Two release notes can describe similar features with different words. This checklist helps compare them without losing dates, version numbers, affected platforms, and rollout limits. ## Capture the exact versions Record version number, release date, platform, and rollout status before summarizing. A feature can exist in the mobile app but not the desktop app, or in beta but not in the stable channel. ## Separate feature from claim A release note may say a feature is “faster,” “improved,” or “more reliable.” Keep the feature description separate from the performance claim unless the note provides a measurement. ## Track removed wording If a later release note removes a limitation or warning, keep the earlier wording in the source trail. Removed wording can explain why older screenshots, comments, or support answers no longer match. ## Write the comparison line A compact comparison line might say: “Version 4.8 adds export filters on desktop; version 4.9 extends the same filters to mobile, but only for paid workspaces.” That sentence is much easier to verify than a vague summary.
