# Creator Revenue Report Context Sheet Revenue screenshots and monthly reports are easy to misread. A number without context can encourage unrealistic comparisons, especially across platforms with different eligibility rules and revenue shares. A context sheet makes a revenue report useful without turning it into a promise. ## 1. Platform and monetization path State whether the revenue came from display ads, long-form video ads, Shorts feed ads, affiliate links, sponsorship, product sales, memberships, or fan funding. These paths behave differently and should not be compared as one bucket. ## 2. Eligibility and activation For platform programs, note whether the relevant module or feature was accepted and active during the reporting period. A creator may be eligible for one feature but not another. ## 3. Traffic and format mix Record views, page views, watch time, geography, device, content type, and top content group when available. A blog with purchase-intent traffic and a Shorts channel with broad entertainment views do not monetize the same way. ## 4. Costs and time Gross revenue is not profit. Include software costs, ad spend, contractor fees, product costs, or production time if the report is used for planning. ## 5. Caveats Mark whether the report is estimated, finalized, one-time, seasonal, sponsored, or affected by policy/account events. ## Template Platform, revenue path, period, active monetization features, traffic mix, content mix, costs, caveats, what cannot be inferred. A good revenue report should help creators ask better planning questions, not push them toward copying a surface-level number.
