Event driven onboarding check is a review for replacing calendar-based onboarding with behavior-based prompts. Many onboarding emails assume every user moves at the same pace. Day 1, day 3, and day 7 sequences can help, but they often miss what the user has actually done. A better check starts with events: Signed up but did not import data. Imported data but did not create the first output. Created output but did not share, export, publish, or invite. Used the product once but did not return within the expected job cycle. Each event needs one prompt, not a full campaign. The message should explain the next useful action, not repeat the marketing headline. This matters for small SaaS because founder time is limited. If activation depends on manual help, the product should still record which step needed help and whether that step can become self-serve later.
