The PV5 is easy to miss because it isn't built for Instagram. That's exactly why it matters. Kia's first dedicated PBV is aimed at fleets, delivery operators, service vans, and the dull B2B miles that actually decide whether an EV platform makes money.

The hardware logic is strong. The PV5 sits on Kia's **E-GMP.S** PBV platform, not a passenger-car base with cargo compromises added later. Kia is quoting up to **1,005 kg** of payload and up to **8 cubic metres** of cargo for the Chassis Cab ecosystem. A **51.5 kWh** battery comes first, with a **71.2 kWh** long-range pack arriving in 2026. More importantly, Kia is bundling charging, connectivity, and fleet tools into one business stack.

It isn't a robotaxi today. Good. Commercial EV winners don't need sci-fi branding first. They need predictable routes, depot charging, uptime, and disciplined operating costs. That's why Hyundai Motor Group's PBV strategy deserves more attention than most consumer EV launches.

The real volume story may sit with vans like this. The numbers don't lie.
