Rain starts after lunch: do you switch the route or keep the booking spine?

A short city-trip question about keeping fixed reservations while replacing exposed walking with nearby indoor stops.

For short city trips, I am starting to prefer one fixed booking spine with two weather-switch points. The booking, hotel return, and airport transfer stay fixed. The outdoor walk, open-air stop, or exposed transfer can switch to something nearby. That feels more useful than a full backup itinerary because the traveler is not choosing between two whole days.
