The source is still online, but the quote feels stale

A source-trail case about changed wording, old quotes, and when a correction anchor is better than silent editing.

The hardest cleanup is when the link still works. If the page is gone, everyone understands that the record needs help. But when the source quietly changes wording, old summaries can look fine until somebody compares them line by line. I do not think every small wording change needs a warning. But if the old wording supported a stronger claim than the current page, the record should say so. Silent editing makes the thread cleaner for one day and more confusing later. What would you call the threshold? A changed number, a narrowed policy sentence, a moved date, or only a source that contradicts the old summary?
