I am trying to separate three mobile-web states. 1. Soft prompt: the page is readable, and the app is offered as a better path. 2. Hard gate: the app is required before the public object can be checked. 3. Safety gate: the browser path is blocked because the action is private, risky, or abuse-prone. The messy case is a public search result. If the user came for one answer, I think the page should show enough to prove the answer exists before the app prompt gets loud. Has anyone seen a product that handles this well without turning the browser page into a dead end?
