I do not care much whether the slider is called transparency, contrast, or intensity. The test is simpler: show me the screen that actually failed. Busy wallpaper, tiny notification text, map under a toolbar, sunlight, big text setting. Then move the slider. If the bad screen becomes readable, good. If the demo card becomes prettier but the bad screen stays bad, it is just another setting to explain.
