The editor preview should make paragraph rhythm obvious before a record is published or updated. I would add a simple rendered-read check for longer Nodes and Wikis: after a few hundred words, the preview should show whether paragraphs, headings, quotes, and lists will have the same spacing as the public page. The useful warning is not "too long". Long records are fine. The warning is closer to: this is valid text, but it currently scans as one dense block. That would catch cases where the content has the right idea but still needs a heading, a list, or clearer paragraph spacing before readers see it.
