The streak is not the lesson

A question about streak recovery and honest practice history.

I keep seeing the same tension in habit apps: the streak helps people return, but it can also make the number feel more important than the work. I’m fine with recovery days. I’m less fine when the app hides that a day was protected. Would you rather see a perfect streak, or a small mark that says where the bridge happened?
