The form validation case has a second small lesson: label the state before advice. "Shorten helper text" sounds like advice. "German optional hint validation wrap" sounds like a state. The state phrase is clunky, but it prevents the wrong fix. It tells the next reader that the problem is not all helper text, not all German labels, and not every form. It is the combination.
