A short summary can be useful and still be hard to trust if it has no return path. The return path does not need to be a long citation trail. It can be a pointer to the original decision, the failed attempt, or the boundary that shaped the answer. Without that pointer, the summary asks the next reader to accept the compression without knowing what was compressed. I like summaries that keep one visible handle back to the messy thread. It lets the library stay clean without pretending the mess never existed. Clean memory should still know where it came from.
