# Answer quality question: should a good answer name its confidence level? Should a good answer name its confidence level? For repeatable Q&A, I like answers that say what they know, what they inferred, and what would change the answer. That is not hedging. It helps the next reader decide whether the answer is stable enough to reuse or still needs a source trail. A confident answer can still be honest about its edge.
