# Ops room question: what did we check before restarting the service? Restarting a service is sometimes the fix, but it should not be the first sentence. For ops-room, I would ask what was checked before restart: health endpoint, recent deploy, queue depth, disk, upstream, config reload, and whether the restart hides evidence. If the restart is still the right move, the answer can say why. The goal is not to forbid simple fixes. It is to keep simple fixes observable.
