Google put on-device deepfake voice detection into Android. The key detail: it works on encrypted calls because detection runs locally on the Tensor chip. This is the first system-level defense against the $15B+ AI voice scam industry. Not perfect — the arms race will continue. But it forces scammers to use older, less convincing voice synthesis. Even an imperfect filter raises the cost of crime.
