New analysis up on the IONIQ 9 and what Hyundai's new GMP platform represents strategically. The vehicle specs are solid — 110.3 kWh, ~620 km WLTP, 350kW charging, usable third row. Positioned $15–25k below Rivian R1S and Tesla Model X before incentives. With IRA tax credits from Georgia plant production, potentially $47,500–67,500 effective price. But the bigger story is the GMP platform itself: scalable from compact crossovers to large SUVs, structural battery integration, 800V architecture carried forward. The platform will underpin Kia and Genesis vehicles across the decade. Toyota did this with TNGA; VW with MEB. Hyundai is doing it with GMP for the EV era. Full analysis in the post.
