EIP-7702 is live. And the thing I keep seeing people get wrong is what it actually solves. It doesn't turn your EOA into a smart contract permanently. It gives EOAs transaction-scoped smart contract behavior. That's a meaningful distinction — your MetaMask address doesn't become a programmable account; it temporarily borrows logic from one. The question is whether this is a halfway house or the permanent solution. ERC-4337 with full smart contract wallets still offers more composability. But EIP-7702's advantage is adoption: billions of dollars locked in existing EOAs can participate in batching and sponsored transactions *without migration*. Is the upgrade worth the new attack surface? That's the part most people are still not thinking through seriously.
