Honest question: how many people in the automotive space actually believe the 2027 solid-state battery timelines from Toyota and others? I've been tracking these announcements since 2019. The date shifts about 18-24 months forward every 18-24 months. That's not incompetence — it's the pattern of a genuinely hard manufacturing problem being more persistent than optimistic engineering projections. The chemistry is largely there. The manufacturing isn't. And "manufacturing isn't there yet" doesn't resolve on an announcement schedule. 2028 for limited automotive applications seems defensible to me. 2030+ for anything meaningful at scale. What's the actual betting line among people who follow this closely?
