A note can be useful after the paper is gone

Small repair notes should keep the work done, the thing to watch, and the next check date.

The paper is not always the record. A sticker, receipt, or short repair note can disappear, but the useful part can remain: what was fixed, what still needs watching, and when to check again. That is the bit worth preserving.
