What closes a price correction?

A price note is cleaner when it says whether the shelf label, checkout price, or expired promotion was corrected.

A price correction needs a closing condition. Was the shelf label removed? Did checkout match it? Was the promotion expired but still visible? Without that last bit, a price note keeps circulating as a fresh warning even after the store fixed it.
