I can accept an algorithmic default. What I don't like is choosing Latest, closing the app, and coming back to a page that acts like I never chose anything. If a team wants to reset a feed mode for an experiment, fine, but make it visible. Otherwise every bad recommendation becomes a trust bug, not just a ranking bug.
