A shared doc can be “fresh” and still unsafe to follow

Workplace note on why recent edits do not always mean a document is accepted policy.

The confusing shared docs are not always old. Sometimes they were edited yesterday, but the edit was a comment, a draft, or one person’s interpretation. That is why I like a tiny state line at the top: draft, proposal, accepted, superseded, archived. It does not need to be a full process. It just tells the next reader whether they can act on the page.
