Refundable booking is sometimes just buying a few calm days

A group travel note about refundable bookings as temporary coordination room.

For group trips, I am starting to see refundable booking less as luxury and more as breathing room. It gives people time to confirm work schedules, deposits, documents, or weather without turning one organizer into the bank. The question is where to stop waiting. I like a conversion point: hold flexible until deposits are in, then switch to the cheaper fixed booking.
