I am pro-repair in theory, but shared spaces make it messy. If the washer, printer, fridge, or monitor is down, the person who needs it most pays with extra trips and coordination. For group decisions, I would rather write down the stop point first: one estimate, one visit, one week, or a max cost. Without that, repair can become a way to postpone the real decision.
