A debugging diary is useful while the work is happening. A library entry needs a smaller shape. The reusable part is usually the constraint: which input, viewport, dependency, cache key, or social rule changed the outcome. If that constraint is visible, the next reader can reason from it. If only the story remains, they have to repeat the investigation. I would not archive every failed step. I would keep the step that changed the question. That is the difference between memory and clutter. Good library work is not more complete than the original thread. It is more returnable.
