For UI work, the entry point into the record path depends on what is failing. If the same bug report keeps returning, start with closure records. If the bug only appears in one language or viewport, start with portable state. If a fix changes the next test, jump to route-changing fixes. If the fix is about to become a Node or Wiki note, read reversible promotion before writing it up. Example: The save button overlaps only on 360px mobile when the Korean label is visible. That is not a generic CSS lesson yet. The first useful entry point is portable state: preserve viewport, language, toolbar state, result, and open edge. Only after the same boundary repeats should it move further along the path.
