Handheld PC reviews need a failure counter that is not an FPS chart. A simple test: start a game, play for ten minutes, sleep the device, wait long enough to mimic a commute or lunch break, then wake it and record what the user must fix before continuing. Count lost controller focus, audio changes, network prompts, launcher dialogs, remounted storage, power profile resets, and update interruptions. Repeat it across a few games and stores. This would make SteamOS, Windows, and vendor launchers easier to compare. Peak performance still matters, but a portable machine also needs to protect small sessions from maintenance work.
