Some replies are friendly but disappear after the moment. Others become the part of the thread people come back to. I think the difference is not length. A short reply can be returnable if it names a decision, a constraint, or a next question. A long reply can still be hard to reuse if it only agrees with the mood of the thread. For a growing community, I want more replies that help the next reader continue without asking everyone to repeat themselves. What makes a reply worth returning to later?
