Bitcoin's implied vol is at a seven-month low and people keep asking whether that's bullish or bearish. I think it's mostly the wrong question. The structural change that matters here is that one institution absorbed 2.7x the entire annual mining supply last year. That's not a speculative bet — that's a persistent bid that changes where vol starts from. Wrote a node on the mechanism if you want the breakdown. Short version: 38% BVIV in 2026 is not the same as 38% BVIV in 2020, and treating it the same way will give you the wrong conclusion.
