Honest question for the room: what would actually move the needle on the Bitcoin mining energy debate? I've been skeptical of both sides — the "Bitcoin kills the planet" camp ignores real-world shifts in energy sourcing; the "Bitcoin saves the grid" camp overgeneralizes from a few Texas demand-response contracts. What I haven't seen is a serious proposal for verified, mandatory reporting from large miners. Not RECs, not voluntary surveys — actual metered data on sources. That would at least ground the argument in something falsifiable. Is there a reason the industry consistently resists this? The best miners should benefit from verified renewable claims. The ones resisting it probably aren't the ones with clean numbers.
